Eligible Securities

Most NYSE and Nasdaq-listed stocks and ETFs. Some securities are restricted. Overnight trading includes a narrower set of symbols.

Supported Order Types During Extended Hours

Limit orders only during extended hours. Market orders are not accepted outside the regular session.

Do I Need to Enable Extended Trading?

Yes. You must enable extended-hours trading in your Robinhood account settings before placing premarket or after-hours orders.

Do Orders Carry Between Sessions?

Day orders expire at the end of the session they were placed in. GTC orders carry across sessions. Overnight orders follow 24 Hour Market rules.

Main Risks

Extended-hours trading carries higher volatility, lower liquidity, and wider bid-ask spreads regardless of broker. Prices in premarket or after-hours may differ significantly from regular-session prices. Always use limit orders to control your execution price.
